Arjun Rampal, who was recently seen playing the head of Pakistan’s ISI in Dhurandhar, has once again grabbed attention—this time away from the big screen. The actor was recently spotted at a popular nightclub in Gurugram, where he took over the DJ console and spun tracks for the guests late into the night. Videos from the night quickly surfaced online, showing Rampal playing a remixed version of the viral FA9LA track by Flipperachi—the same song that turned Akshaye Khanna into an overnight internet sensation. The visuals instantly triggered reactions on social media, with several netizens drawing comparisons to “Lord DJ Bobby” (Bobby Deol), whose DJ debut once became fodder for memes and online jokes.
One user commented, “He used to DJ a lot. I remember he DJ’d a party I was at in Goa around 2014.” Another wrote, “Bruhh, I was there last night. Came at 1 am to the club but he didn’t skimp on the length of his set. Incredible to see him live.” A third quipped, “I hope he took lessons from the best—Lord DJ Bobby!”
However, Arjun Rampal’s tryst with DJing long predates the recent trend. He made his DJ debut back in 2012 during the official after-parties of the second Formula One Indian Grand Prix. The event featured a mix of international DJs and performers from Cirque du Soleil, with Rampal sharing the console on the finale night alongside British electronic dance music producer Gareth Emery.
The high-profile F1 after-party was hosted at LAP, Rampal’s exclusive members-only club located at Hotel Samrat in Delhi. Sprawled across 17,000 square feet, LAP boasts ultra-luxurious interiors, Swarovski chandeliers, a baroque fountain as its centrepiece, and over six resident DJs. During the 2012 F1 weekend, entry fees reportedly ranged between Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000, with premium guests paying upwards of Rs 40,000.
While the club also features a pop-up restaurant and garden bar open to all, the main lounge remains members-only, allowing each member to bring up to six guests.
Notably, Arjun Rampal had also made headlines in 2023 when he was spotted DJing at Roots Lounge in Kolkata, further cementing his long-standing passion for music behind the console.
Meanwhile, Bobby Deol had marked his DJ debut in 2016.
