Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 16 Update: Ranveer Singh film surpasses Chhaava's record.
Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 16 Update: Despite a major release like James Cameron’s Avatar Fire and Ash on Friday, Dhurandhar continues its strong run at the Indian box office. The film posted a record third Saturday, earning approximately Rs 33.5 crore and taking its total India net collection to Rs 516.5 crore. Before Dhurandhar, the highest third Saturday box office collection was held by Chhaava (Rs 22 crore) with Pushpa 2 (Rs 20 crore) close behind. Like Dhurandhar, both films went on to achieve all-time blockbuster status.
The Ranveer Singh film earned Rs 22.50 crore on Friday, its lowest single-day earning. With its day 16 box office earning, Dhurandhar is now the second fastest Indian film ever to enter Rs 500 crore club in India. It did so in a record 16 days, only behind Pushpa 2 which managed the feat in 11 days. Among Hindi, it is the fastest ever to do so, ahead of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (18 days).
Internationally, Dhurandhar emerged among top 5 films worldwide over the second weekend, as per Comscore. Its international gross is $18 million, taking its worldwide gross to over Rs 750 crore by Friday. The film is likely to enter the Rs 800 crore mark today.
On Saturday, Animal director shared his review of Dhurandhar. It read, “It is built like a man who doesn’t talk much & carries a masculine spine…. DHURANDHAR The title fits because the film moves with dominance & fierceness. The depiction is very clear with zero chaos. Music, performances, screenplay & direction are on the top. #AkshayKhanna sir and @RanveerOfficial erased into air & just disappeared into characters effortlessly. Thank you Aditya Dhar for making everyone experience the true weight of untold sacrifices.”
Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller follows Ranveer Singh’s Hamza who infiltrates Karachi’s crime world to destablise ISI’s nefarious plans from within. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and R Madhavan.
